The Lord saved my soul when I was eleven years old. It is an honor to serve others as a deacon here at Fellowship Baptist Church. Christ speaking of the last days on earth, "you think of me with your minds, speak of me with your mouths, but your hearts are far from me." My desires and prayers are that all would come to know Christ in their hearts and not just in their minds. If I can ever be a help to anyone, please let me know.

I asked Christ into my heart at the age of 10 at a revival over Ash's Furniture Store. Brother Arwood was preaching that night and would later become our first pastor. The Lord has blessed this church so much since its charter in 1977. What a pleasure and honor it is to serve as a deacon here. Through God's guidance, Fellowship Baptist is on a mission to see souls saved. Come help us make an even bigger impact. I want to say a very special thank you to the charter members. May God bless you.

I was saved during my teenage years in one of our yearly revivals. All week I felt God speaking to my heart but being the shy person that I am I would never come forward and ask Jesus into my heart. One night before the revival had ended and as everybody was shaking hands and leaving the evangelist ask me if I had been saved and I said "no." Then he ask if I would like to be and I said, "yes". He said, "Lets go back here in the Sunday school room." There he led me to Christ. That moment was the only time I was ever perfect, but now is a different story (not perfect) but justified by faith.

I came to Christ Jesus as my personal Savior at age 13. Though I have been far from perfect in following Him, now at nearly 79 years old He is still most precious to me. |

I have been a deacon approximately 46 years. The best part of being a deacon is helping others. In fact, helping others is the best part of life. I have tried to teach and sing all my Christian life. I enjoy telling anyone about Jesus or studying God's Word with anyone. As a deacon we must continually pray, visit, and love those people in our church and help anyone else we meet. I honestly believe this church has a great future because I have a great group of deacons to work with.
I have six children and am very proud of them: Glenda, Valerie, Gayle, Doug, Paul, and Trudy.

The Lord Jesus Christ saved me at the age of 8 at Fairview Baptist Church in Lebanon, Tennessee. Like many, I moved away from the Lord and spent several years in the "wilderness". During this time, the Lord taught me the most valuable lesson in life; "Apart from Him, I am nothing." It has been a great experience serving the Lord in the Bus and Children's Ministries with my best friend and wife Cathy. We are both so thankful the Lord called us to Fellowship Baptist Church. I consider it a privilege and an honor to serve this congregation and look forward to what the Lord is going to do. (Philippians 3: 13,14). |
